SUMMARY:Transition Your Wardrobe Sewing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us and learn basic sewing and design techniques to update your wardrobe to match your gender identity and style! Learning to sew is a great life skill to have\, you can make your own repairs and adjustments\, as well as repurpose old clothes to turn them into one of a kind fashion. No sewing experience necessary. Bring one piece of clothing you would like to upcycle. If you have a sewing machine or sewing needles and materials from home you want to use you are welcome to bring in and use during this session. We will have some sewing materials and tools on hand for you to use and get creative. \nThis event is in partnership with Out Montclair. Visit https://outmontclair.org/ to learn more about their mission. \nWhat you will be using in class: Participants will be using a needle\, thread\, fabric notions\, embellishments\, and fabric shears to transform their clothing item into a new piece of fun fashion. \nWhat you need to bring: Participants need to bring in one piece of clothing from home – a shirt\, a pair of pants\, a shirt\, or other clothing item. I you have additional articles of clothing or fabrics that you would like to use as material for the piece you want to make you are welcome to bring in as well. \nWhat you will make and take home: One upcycled piece of clothing you redesigned. \n___ \nPARTICIPATION \nThis In Person Class takes place at The Eclectic Chic Boutique located at 547 Bloomfield Ave\, Montclair NJ. \nAPPROPRIATE AGES FOR PARTICIPATION  \nThis class is appropriate for Adults and Teens to participate in. Participants must be at least 14 years old or older and can work independently. If a participant needs a caretaker or parent to assist with the project the assisting person does not need a ticket. \nCANCELATION & RESCHEDULING \nIt is the Participant’s responsibility to contact us prior to the event if they are unable to attend for any reason. If we as the Organizers need to reschedule an event participants will be notified. \nParticipants are eligible for a refund if the request is submitted up to 7 days in advance of the class date. Participants who submit a request 6 days or less in advance are eligible for a 50% refund or an opportunity to apply credit to a future class. SUMMARY:Skincare & Selfcare Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a calm and refreshing afternoon learning how to craft your own DIY skincare items in a safe and welcoming space. In this workshop you’ll learn how to take all natural ingredients\, some you can even find in your own kitchen\, and make your own sugar scrub and bath fizz. A sugar scrub is a product that exfoliates your skin\, giving you a smooth appearance and radiant glow. Bath Fizz is a fun aromatic powder to can add to your bath for a calm and relaxing bath time experience. Connect with your community\, express your creativity\, and practice some well-deserved self-care. This session is Trans and LGBTQ friendly. \nThis event is in partnership with Out Montclair.
