SUMMARY:Transition Your Wardrobe Sewing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us and learn basic sewing and design techniques to update your wardrobe to match your gender identity and style! Learning to sew is a great life skill to have\, you can make your own repairs and adjustments\, as well as repurpose old clothes to turn them into one of a kind fashion. No sewing experience necessary. Bring one piece of clothing you would like to upcycle. If you have a sewing machine or sewing needles and materials from home you want to use you are welcome to bring in and use during this session. We will have some sewing materials and tools on hand for you to use and get creative. Allies are also welcome to join. \nThis event is in partnership with Out Montclair. Visit https://outmontclair.org/ to learn more about their mission. \n   \n🎨 What Will I Make in the Class?\nParticipants will upcycle a piece of clothing they bring in for the workshop \n🛍️What should I bring?\nParticipants should bring one piece of clothing. Optionally participants can bring any additional fabric\, clothing\, buttons\, or embellishments that they want to use as part of their project. Participants can also bring any sewing tools or a sewing machine that they own and is in working condition. \n🎁 What Will I Take Home?\nOne piece of clothing they you upcycled during the class \n👪 What Age Group Can Participate In This Class?\nThis class is appropriate for Adults and Teens to participate in. Participants must be at least 14 years old or older and can work independently. If a participant needs a caretaker or parent to assist with the project the assisting person does not need a ticket. \n🗺️ Where Does This Class Take Place?\nThis In Person Class takes place at The Eclectic Chic Boutique located at 547 Bloomfield Ave\, Montclair NJ. \n🧋 Can I Bring a Beverage or a Snack?\nNo\, we don’t recommend bringing food or drinks to this class. \n🚗 Where Do I Park?\nWe recommend parking in either the Maple Place Lot\, located around the corner from the shop\, or the Midtown Deck at 202 Glenridge Avenue Montclair. You can find more parking options on https://montclaircenter.com/parking/ \n📅 What Happens If I Need to Cancel?\nIt is the Participant’s responsibility to contact us prior to the event if they are unable to attend for any reason. If we as the Organizers need to cancel or reschedule an event participants will be notified of any changes using the contact info provided to us in the ticket purchase.\nParticipants are eligible for a refund if the request is submitted 7 days in advance of the class date. Participants who submit a request 6 days or less in advance are eligible for a 50% refund or an opportunity to apply credit to a future class. DESCRIPTION:Step away from the screen and into a community built for local artists. Join us for a monthly meetup built for creatives who want more than just “likes.” This club is a hub for inspiration and artistic growth. We’re moving past social media to create a physical space where artists can collaborate on new ventures\, share artistic skills\, and potentially find opportunities within our own community. \nCome for the inspiration\, stay for the partnership and support. This event is LGBTQAI+ and Neurodiverse Friendly. \nWe welcome artists in all kinds of mediums like drawing\, digital art\, painting\, crocheting\, embroidery\, sewing\, jewelry making\, and more! \n \n🎒 What Do I need to Bring?\nBring any art supplies you like to use or a project you are working on. Our classroom has a handwash sink\, access to outlets\, wifi\, some tools and art supplies if you need anything to supplement your work. If you don’t have a project or art supplies we have DIY Art Kits available for purchase and some art supplies in our studio. \n🎨 When Will the Club Meet?\nJoin us on the last Wednesday of every month. \n📱How Will The Club Stay in Contact?\nWe use Discord as our main HQ for updates and contests. I’ve designed products for companies including Disney\, Universal\, Sanrio\, and Warner Bros. for major retail chains. In 2015\, I founded my freelance business\, KT Designs. I sell my custom designs on Etsy\, with over 30\,000 sales and 5\,000 five-star reviews\, as well as through local boutiques like The Eclectic Chic Boutique and at craft shows.
