SUMMARY:Tea Bowl Making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Step into the world of Japanese tea culture in this hands-on pottery session. Participants will learn the fundamentals of hand-building to shape their very own Chawan (traditional matcha tea bowl). Whether you prefer a rugged\, organic aesthetic or a more refined silhouette\, you’ll be guided through the techniques needed to create a functional piece of art. \nNOTE: After you finish making your tea bowl\, your instructor will hold onto your bowl so it can be fired. We will contact you when your bowl is ready for pick up. \n \n🎨 What Will I Make in the Class?\nEach participant will make one tea bowl. \n🎁 What Will I Take Home?\nEach participant make one tea bowl. Participants will receive their bowl at a later date after the bowls are treated in the kiln. \n👪 What Age Group Can Participate In This Class?\nThis class is appropriate for Adults\, Teens and Kids to participate in. Participants must be at least 10 years old or older and can work independently. If a participant needs a caretaker or parent to assist with the project the assisting person does not need a ticket. \n🧑‍🏫 Who is teaching this class?\nItoko Kobayashi\nWhen I became a mom more than 20 years ago\, I set out to create my own world through my art. I love to share my knowledge with those I teach and I want all of my students to enjoy their time with me. I love it when my students get to bring home something one of a kind at the end of every workshop. \n🗺️ Where Does This Class Take Place?\nThis In Person Class takes place at The Eclectic Chic Boutique located at 547 Bloomfield Ave\, Montclair NJ. \n🧋 Can I Bring a Beverage or a Snack?\nNo\, you cannot. \n🚗 Where Do I Park?\nWe recommend parking in either the Maple Place Lot\, located around the corner from the shop\, or the Midtown Deck at 202 Glenridge Avenue Montclair. You can find more parking options on https://montclaircenter.com/parking/ \n📅 What Happens If I Need to Cancel?\nIt is the Participant’s responsibility to contact us prior to the event if they are unable to attend for any reason. If we as the Organizers need to cancel or reschedule an event participants will be notified of any changes using the contact info provided to us in the ticket purchase.\nParticipants are eligible for a refund if the request is submitted 7 days in advance of the class date. Participants who submit a request 6 days or less in advance are eligible for a 50% refund or an opportunity to apply credit to a future class.
