Yolanda's Creations

I say my mother taught me to crochet and my sister taught me jewelry making…here is how Yolanda’s Creations came about.

Yolanda’s Creations is known for its fun, delicate, sassy, and practical style. It’s for the young and old and young at heart. It’s the type of style that can go from day to night in an instant. Yolanda’s Creations is young at heart! My name is Yolanda, and I am the creator and designer for Yolanda’s Creations. Yolanda’s Creations started about 12 years ago as only jewelry. My younger sister at that time had a bead shop in Chicago and showed me how to make something as pretty and simple as earrings. When I moved to New Jersey she sent me a care package …my first earring-making kit! I was in jewelry-making heaven!

My mother taught me how to crochet since I was a kid. She encouraged me most recently how to line my purses with fabric (hence the sewing by hand and by machine) and how to incorporate my beads into my crocheting.

My husband is my biggest supporter. He came up with the name: Yolanda’s Creations and the logo and color palette and I have run with that concept since. I have tapped into beads, fiber, and even fabric. I have found that creating is great but when you can wear what you make and people say, ‘Hey that is very pretty’ that to me is the best compliment!

My goal is to have customers see my vision of being young at heart and yet still have that style of casual, sassy, and boho chic and know that when you get something from my store it’s made with a lot of love and attention.

But MOST of all I want to keep the spirit and joy of crocheting alive because that is something my mother has always enjoyed doing and is something that I consider a true art. I want to have my crocheting to continue to become the biggest thing you can think of and have my mother’s dream of making this art be a wish come true – that people will appreciate the art of crocheting.
