Beginner Bonsai Workshop

Join us for our beginner Bonsai workshop! Your instructor will guide you through creating your very own Pre-Bonsai tree to take home and cherish. You will learn the vital foundation of bonsai longevity by developing a strong, healthy root system, alongside essential basic form and pruning techniques to beautifully shape your tree. To add a unique, personal touch to your creation, students are also welcome to bring along their own foraged moss to dress the soil.

What Will I Make in the Class? Participants will make one Pre-Bonsai tree.

What Will I Take Home? Participants will take home their Pre-Bonsai tree.

👪 What Age Group Can Participate In This Class?
This class is appropriate for Teens aged 18+ and Adults to participate in.

Who is teaching this class?

I have been making and selling Bonsai trees for over 30 years. It is my passion and I love to share it with others. My adventure into Bonsai started with my landlord in Boston MA. She managed a Bonsai nursey and her home and yard were full of Bonsai trees. I fell in love with them. My work has been sold in Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, NYC and NJ.

🗺️ Where Does This Class Take Place?
This In Person Class takes place at Keep Creating Art Wellness Center located at 1 Lackawanna Plaza, Montclair, NJ. Keep Creating is located inside Lackawanna Station Mall.

🍿 Can I Bring a Beverage or a Snack?
Yes you can bring your own food. And participants can also buy food from the mall.

🚗 Where Do I Park?
Lackawanna Station has a paid parking lot but the first 45 minutes are free.

📅 What Happens If I Need to Cancel?
It is the Participant’s responsibility to contact us prior to the event if they are unable to attend for any reason. If we as the Organizers need to cancel or reschedule an event participants will be notified of any changes using the contact info provided to us in the ticket purchase.

Participants are eligible for a refund if the request is submitted 7 days in advance of the class date. Participants who submit a request 6 days or less in advance are eligible for a 50% refund or an opportunity to apply credit to a future class. If a participant cancels the day of the class or does not show up during the class time they are ineligible for a refund.
