Transition Your Wardrobe Sewing Workshop

Join us and learn basic sewing and design techniques to update your wardrobe to match your gender identity and style! Learning to sew is a great life skill to have, you can make your own repairs and adjustments, as well as repurpose old clothes to turn them into one of a kind fashion. No sewing experience necessary. Bring one piece of clothing you would like to upcycle. If you have a sewing machine or sewing needles and materials from home you want to use you are welcome to bring in and use during this session. We will have some sewing materials and tools on hand for you to use and get creative.

What you will be using in class: Participants will be using a needle, thread, fabric notions, embellishments, and fabric shears to transform their clothing item into a new piece of fun fashion.

What you need to bring: Participants need to bring in one piece of clothing from home – a shirt, a pair of pants, a shirt, or other clothing item. I you have additional articles of clothing or fabrics that you would like to use as material for the piece you want to make you are welcome to bring in as well.

What you will make and take home: One upcycled piece of clothing you redesigned.

PARTICIPATION

This In Person Class takes place at The Eclectic Chic Boutique located at 547 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair NJ.

APPROPRIATE AGES FOR PARTICIPATION 

This class is appropriate for Adults and Teens to participate in. Participants must be at least 14 years old or older and can work independently. If a participant needs a caretaker or parent to assist with the project the assisting person does not need a ticket.

CANCELATION & RESCHEDULING

It is the Participant’s responsibility to contact us prior to the event if they are unable to attend for any reason. If we as the Organizers need to reschedule an event participants will be notified.

Participants are eligible for a refund if the request is submitted up to 7 days in advance of the class date. Participants who submit a request 6 days or less in advance are eligible for a 50% refund or an opportunity to apply credit to a future class. If participants cancel the day of the class or do not show up during the class time they are ineligible for a refund.
